New Delhi: Delhi Police has registered a case after a Rear Admiral complained that his gallantry award was stolen at the 1B domestic terminal of Delhi Airport last week when he was returning from Mumbai. A manhunt has begun to catch the culprit.
The Rear Admiral, Pradip K Chatterjee, is posted as Principal Director of Submarine Acquisitions at Naval Headquarters in Delhi and was returning from Mumbai on a Jet Airways flight 9W333.
As per the FIR, Admiral Chatterjee has said: “After the arrival of my flight at Delhi Airport, I was about to collect my luggage from the conveyor belt. But before I could collect my luggage, my briefcase containing my gallantry award and Nausena Identity card, PAN card and other documents... was taken away by some person.”
A few days later, Admiral Chatterjee received an envelope at his residence containing some of the stolen documents. However, the Admiral’s gallantry award and identity card were not there.
