Bangalore: The Bangalore International Airport Limited has selected the Oberoi group to operate a 5-star hotel under the brand name trident Hilton.
"This truly will be the first airport hotel in India, within walking distance from the terminal building," a BIAL statement said today.
BIAL is a public limited company formed to build, own and operate the largest greenfield private sector-owned and operated airport in India- the Bangalore International Airport.
Nearly 42 per cent of the construction at the site, started 17 months ago, is complete as of November-end, it was stated. The runway will have a length of 4,000 metres and a width of 45 metres.
On the human resource aspect, BIAL currently has a headcount of 56 which will further go up to more than 350 people by the end of 2007, the statement said.
