SIA Engineering plans to tap into Asia's booming aviation industry

Singapore: As regional airlines look into expanding and renewing their fleets, SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) is gearing up to handle the additional work in maintenance, repair and overhaul.
Over the next two to three years, passenger and cargo traffic growth in the region are expected to accelerate.
With Asian airlines expanding to cope with the growth, there will be a corresponding increase in demand for aircraft maintenance services.
William Tan, CEO of SIAEC, says: "We continue to work hard at developing the Singapore base. There's room for a seventh hangar just next to the sixth and we're looking for locations for the equivalent of four more hangars over the next 5 years."
"Besides our Singapore base, we will grow with our joint venture companies in the Philippines, Indonesia, and in India where we've announced a joint venture with the Wadia group that runs Go airlines. We're looking into opportunities in China as well. Right now, we have a JV in Hong Kong," says Mr Tan.
