Airline officials are summoned in theft case

Gulf Air officials are being summoned to court in India for alleged negligence, over the theft of a camera from a passenger's baggage.
The consumer court in Patna, in the eastern Indian state of Bihar, ordered yesterday that a representative from the airline be present on February 22.
The case is in connection with the alleged theft of the brand new camera from the baggage of an Indian Army officer, who took a Gulf Air flight from Dubai to Chennai, India, last year.
The notice was issued following a complaint by Lieutenant Col John Prince, who alleges that his camera was stolen after his baggage was checked in.
He is blaming alleged negligence by the airline for the theft and damage done to another bag.
Lt Col Prince said he wanted $900 (BD342) compensation and sought the court's intervention.
