SpiceJet to begin Kolkata-B'lore flight

Kolkata: Private low cost airline SpiceJet plans to connect Kolkata to Hyderabad and introduce an additional flight to Bangalore with the newly inducted Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the Kolkata-Bangalore-Hyderabad route from February 4.
"As part of its expansion in the east and north east, the airline has plans to introduce a flight to Port Blair by end-June. Besides, it also intends to connect Agartala, Bagdogra and Dibrugarh", Mr Sanjay Kumar, vice president marketing & planning, SpiceJet said.
With the introduction of these flights, the airline’s eight flights daily from Kolkata now will stand enhanced to 16 flights daily by the end of June this year. SpiceJet is already operating on the Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati and Bangalore sectors.
SpiceJet is also looking to setting up its maintenance base in Kolkata after Delhi.
