Thanks to Australian Airline too; Profits surge for India’s TCS

New Delhi: India’s top software exporter Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. on Monday said it won several multimillion dollar outsourcing deals between October and December that helped the company’s net income during the quarter surge 47 percent from a year ago.
The company said the deals included a US$140–million contract from a private bank in Ecuador, a US$100–million order from a Chinese bank and a US$90–million project with a leading Australian airline.
A leading Britain–based food and grocery retailer also shifted infrastructure management service to Tata Consultancy Services, or TCS, under a deal valued up to US$70 million.
The company didn’t name the companies, who were among 55 new clients that TCS added during the quarter.
