Mangalore : Mangalore Airport received the ISO 14001 and Best Fire Station Trophy (National Level) Award on Wednesday January 31st 2007 at the airport premises.
The awards were presented by Durga Shankar Mishra, Chief Vigilance Officer of the Airport Authority of India (AAI). Speaking on the occasion, Mishra said that the Mangalore airport was the third airport to be getting this ISO 14001 award. The airport is also considered to be a high quality fire station, hence it rightly deserves the Best Fire Station Award, he said.
The other two airports which have received this award previously are Ahmedabad and Jaipur. Mishra also said that the bestowing of the ISO award to the Mangalore airport was because of its environmental management purpose. All credit should go to Mr. Vasudev, the airport director for his hard work in this field, said Mishra.
