Fliers in a spot at Pune

Pune: Passengers on board private airliner GoAir’s flight from Delhi to Pune on Saturday evening had a harrowing time due to a four-hour delay in the flight service. The flight landed in Pune from Delhi at an unearthly 2.30 am on Sunday.
Some of the passengers who approached TOI complained that the airline operator did not address their grievances properly. They said the GoAir staff at Delhi airport did not heed their demand for a refund and transportation despite a court ruling that airline operators are liable to pay compensation at the rate of Rs 10,000 per passenger for unaccountable flight delays by the airlines. The flight had 136 passengers on board.
GoAir has denied the charge, stating that refund was not an issue. It also said that the delay occurred due to factors beyond its control.
