New Delhi: A day after the High Court pulled up the Government on the airport congestion charge calling it “passenger-unfriendly” and asked for a detailed response by next month, the Ministry of Civil Aviation indicated today that it was going to do a rethink on its controversial announcement.
So just two days after his Secretary announced that from March 25, peak-hour landing, parking and navigation rates for airlines would be doubled, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel said that no decision had been taken.
Speaking to The Indian Express, he said that the plan to double charges between 7-10 am and 6-8 pm and halve them between midnight and 5 am was just a proposal.
Patel, however, added that the Ministry is considering pushing for incentives for non-peak hour operations.
