British aviation experts said Wednesday that they expected more work on the Airbus to move outside Europe in future to countries like India, Russia and China.
"The brutal truth is that countries such as China, India and Russia are making it clear to Airbus and to US rival Boeing that if they want their business they are going to have to provide Airbus work in their country," said Kieran Daly, editor of online publication Air Transport Intelligence.
While China had hardly got any Airbus work at all at the moment, plenty was planned there and China could end up assembling whole planes in the future, said Daly.
Airbus work could also be done in the United States in future, said Daly.
David Learmont of Flight International magazine said it was "absolutely certain" that less and less Airbus work would be done in Britain and other European countries.
