Fire in Air India booking office

Chennai: The Air India booking office at the international terminal of the airport here was damaged in fire in the wee hours today.
However, there were no casualties or flight delays, police said.
Police cited gas leak from an air-conditioner as the cause of the fire at the booking office.
Fire brigade sources rushed to the spot, broke open the glass panels of the office and put out the fire. Several people were waiting to board flights at the adjoining departure lounge and the timely action by the fire brigade averted a major disaster, airport sources said.
