Turbulence hit Bangalore airport after passengers of a Bangalore-Delhi GoAir flight resorted to massive protests after their flight was delayed by over 16 hours for which the airlines apologised later.
The Bangalore-Delhi flight was supposed to take off at 9 pm on Thursday night, but was delayed due a ‘technical problem’ according to the GoAir authorities. However, when the flight did take off 3 hours later at 12 midnight, it returned back to Bangalore after circling over the city for another 3 hours. After this, the passengers were reportedly asked to disembark following which they were stranded at the Bangalore airport till Friday evening.
Passengers, who had embarked on the plane for the second time refused to come out, on grounds that the domestic budget airline may utilise the aircraft for a different route.
Tempers ran high for some time, as a section of passengers complained of inconvenience.
GoAir authorities initially refused to comment on the delay. In fact, when TIMES NOW tried to speak to flight’s crew, they simply walked away. But later, GoAir Managing Director, Jeh Wadia apologised to the stranded passengers saying that there is no excuse for the inconvenience caused to the passengers.
The delayed GoAir flight has was cancelled and all passengers were given tickets to other airlines to continue with their journey.
