Mumbai: The top brass of Indian and Air India would meet in New Delhi on Wednesday under the leadership of Union Civil Aviation minister Praful Patel to expedite the merger process, according to officials. Patel would also be separately meeting the unions in the morning.
Apart from the CMDs, executive directors, other directors and representatives of General Manager and above personnel of both the airlines would participate in this meeting.
This first meeting of a series of interactions to be held in the coming months would also devise a roadmap formulating the HR policy to bring parity in salaries and a smooth integration.
The main challenge is the post merger integration process and all employees will have to be taken into confidence. A time frame has to be fixed and for this various modalities need to be completed.
Speaking to HT, V Thulasidas, CMD Air India said that the merger process would complete within five months.
