A Jet Airways plane, with 142 passengers on board, returned to Kolkata shortly after leaving for Mumbai on Friday evening on noticing a crack in the windshield.
Airport sources said the pilot of the air-borne flight sought permission from the Air Traffic Control (ATC) to return after detecting a crack on the wind shield.
All precautionary arrangements were made for landing in emergency conditions but the plane landed safely, the sources said.
