Kolkata: India’s largest low-cost airline, Air Deccan, today announced the launch of daily, non-stop flights connecting Kolkata to Dimapur via Imphal. This Kolkata-Dimapur flight will connect Imphal and Dimapur for the first time. Flights from Kolkata to Cooch Behar, Bodh Gaya, Rourkela, Jorhat and Jamshedpur will be introduced.
At a Press conference here, Captain GR Gopinath, Air Deccan’s managing director, addressed concerns regarding the ticketing system that has distressed passengers. He said: “We have had to shift to a new ticketing system and in the migration process, data on about 25,000 passengers were lost. As a result, passengers often turn up at the airport with valid tickets but we do not find their names on our lists.”
