Air India Express is highly optimistic that it would be successful in catering to the desired market segment with the introduction of its low-budget airline connecting Bahrain with additional number of Indian destinations.
Earlier last month, Air India Express made its maiden flight to Bahrain, connecting Mangalore in South India.
Speaking to Khaleej Times over telephone, Freddie Vaz, the Dubai-based regional manager of Air India, said the “airline is committed to the region, and will look into every possibility of further introducing more flights in line with the demand from this very important sector”.
Explaining further about Air India Express service, D. Debesh, Air India manager for Bahrain and Jordan, expressed happiness for the addition of Mangalore, adding that “it was a dream of the Mangalorean community in Bahrain to have a direct flight between the two destinations, and with the maiden flight of Air India Express, we have delivered it to them”.
Explaining the new weekly operational flight pattern, Debesh said there will be four flights to Mumbai, five flights to Kerala (serving Cochin four times, Calicut three times and Trivandrum once a week), and two to Mangalore.
