Forum seeks direct flight between Doha and Bangalore

Doha: Indian expatriate forum Karnataka Sangha is seeking a direct flight between Doha and Bangalore.
The Sangha office-bearers, general secretary Raj Jyoti and vice-president J Mannangi handed over a memorandum to this effect to the visiting Indian Federal Minister for Overseas Affairs Vayalar Ravi at the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) on Wednesday evening.
The forum officials said the minister had agreed to take up the issue with the Indian civil aviation authorities. “Now that Air India Express has introduced a direct air link between Mangalore and Doha, we also expect a similar decision on Bangalore too from the Indian civil aviation authorities,” said a Sangha statement.
“Being the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore deserves to have a direct air link from Qatar, at least once or twice a week,” it said.
