Malaysia Airports to extend incentive scheme for airlines

Sepang: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd's (MAHB) incentive scheme for airlines, which expires May 2, will be extended till a new one is ready.
MAHB managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Bashir Ahmad said details of the new scheme were being finalised.
Bashir said MAHB, which has had talks with the Government for some time, also hoped to get an approval an increase in landing and parking charges, and passenger fees.
Those charges and fees have not been raised for 25 years and a decade respectively.
MAHB manages and operates five international airports, 16 domestic and 18 short take-off and landing ports in the country.
Turning to its overseas operations, Bashir said MAHB was awaiting an implementation date to manage, operate and maintain the Astana International Airport in Kazakhstan.
The Astana airport deal is for 10 years. MAHB also manages airports in New Delhi and Hyderabad in India.
