Passengers prevented from boarding Air Deccan flight

Vasco: Eleven passengers were allegedly prevented from boarding an Air Deccan flight at the Dabolim airport on Monday evening.
Speaking to Herald, one passenger Sanjiv Arroda claimed that they were in Goa for their holiday since the last one-week and were to fly to New Delhi by the Air Deccan flight DN738 at 6.45pm.
“When we reached Dabolim airport today at 4.45 pm, Air Deccan officials prevented us from boarding the flight,” said Arroda, who claimed that they had booked tickets in February on schemes offered by Air Deccan.
The angry passengers blamed airline officials of preventing them from boarding their flight, while Airport Authority of India officials also criticised the airlines staff for inconveniencing the passengers.
“From March 26, Air Deccan had withdrawn the 6.45 pm DN 738 flight and instead, had pressed the 5 pm DN 604 Goa-Delhi flight via Mumbai instead. The Air Deccan Call Centre tried to intimate the passengers of this change, but their number was out of coverage and hence, they could not board the 5 pm flight,” said, Elphege Lobo, airport manager of Air Deccan. Angry scenes at the Air Deccan ticket counter finally subsided when Lobo assured to board them on the Air Deccan flight on Tuesday.
