Airlines promise less hazards for travellers this monsoon

Mumbai: Various airlines have geared up to reduce passenger inconvenience during the monsoons, when flights are often delayed due to inclement weather.
While Jet Airways has tied up with a news channel to provide information to its passengers on the weather, Air Deccan has launched a 24-hour centralised helpline for delays and re-scheduling of flights. GoAir, Air-India and Kingfisher, too, have taken similar initiatives.
Close to the onset of the monsoons, airlines generally make systematic arrangements pertaining to aircraft scheduling and deployment, crew management and contingency planning among other measures in case the flight is diverted to other destinations, cancelled or delayed. Similarly, Air Deccan too has geared up to tackle flight disruptions owing to adverse weather conditions.
National carrier Air India too has a facility of informing passengers about new timings of flights through personal calls, in case of any delays.
