I was only joking, says woman who threatened hijack

Penang: The woman from India who threatened to hijack a Malaysia Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Penang told police that she was only joking.
However, Balik Pulau OCPD Supt Mohd Hatta Mohd Zain said the police did not view it as a laughing matter.
Supt Mohd Hatta said the 35-year-old mother of two was upset when her request to view the cockpit with her two daughters, aged one and three, was rejected by a steward.
Supt Mohd Hatta said the outcome of police investigations would be handed over to the Deputy Public Prosecutor who would decide whether to charge the woman.
Meanwhile, MAS issued a statement saying that the incident occurred not in mid-air but when the plane was already in Penang and the passengers had started disembarking.
“The flight from Kuala Lumpur to Penang itself was uneventful. There was neither disruption nor security breach by any passenger,” the carrier said.
