Air India to be headed by aviation professional

New Delhi: In a bid to give the merged entity of Air-India and Indian Airlines ~ Air India ~ a corporate makeover, the civil aviation ministry is looking for a professional ~ preferably from the aviation industry ~ to head the organisation.
The government had recently announced that Mr V Thulasidas would be the new CMD and Mr Vishwapati Tripathi would be the joint MD of Air India. Senior ministry officials said the new head would replace Mr Thulasidas, who completes his extended tenure in March next year. Ministry sources said it is unlikely that Mr Tripathi would succeed Mr Thulasidas.
Ministry officials, however, confirmed that there would be no major changes, otherwise. It is unlikely that there would be any changes in the board of directors in the National Aviation Company, under which the new merged entity would operate.
