Sao Paulo: The new chief executive officer of Brazilian aircraft-maker Embraer denied that Embraer was close to reaching an agreement with Paramount Airlines of India for $2 billion of its regional jets, contrary to what the carrier's executives said earlier this month.
"We've been talking with them for a long time, but there's nothing concrete, nothing to announce," Curado said.
Embraer chief said there are preliminary signs of a slowdown in demand for commercial planes, but that the long-term outlook is positive and the company is racing to meet deliveries.
"There has been a certain stabilisation of airfares and traffic in the world's big-gest market, the US, though at high levels," said Frederico Fleury Curado, who took over from Mauricio Botelho in April.
The world's fourth-largest producer of commercial planes doesn't have any firm plans to announce new orders next week at the Paris Air Show, but Curado said his team was working to conclude two deals.
