Jett 8 prepares for take-off

Jett 8, Singapore's only privately owned cargo carrier has taken delivery of its first aircraft. The Boeing 747-200 freighter will conduct a proving flight before the airline can obtain full licensing to begin operations.
The cargo airline is at the final stages of fulfilling the requirements for its air operator's certificate, a Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) spokesperson said.
Four more freighters are expected to join the fleet within the first 12 to 15 months of operation.
The bulk of the cargo carrier's business is expected to come from India and China.
