Mumbai: Air India Express, the low-cost unit of national carrier Air India, on Thursday received its eighth Boeing 737-800, taking the total fleet to 15.
The addition of this aircraft increases the fleet size of the airliner to 15, of which seven are on lease, a company release said.
Air India Express operates with all economy class seats on Gulf, Singapore and Sri Lanka routes, it said.
The airline, which commenced operations in April 2005, operates 114 weekly flights between 10 cities in the country and another 10 foreign stations. From July 8, the number of flights will increase to 119 a week.
