Boeing's Dreamliner opens Indo-US opportunities

Seattle: India is big on Boeing’s radar. While Airbus has placed its faith on the double-decker Superjumbo A-380 which can carry a large number of passengers (up to 800), Boeing is betting on smaller long haul planes like the Dreamliner, which can carry only around 300, but can do point-to-point routes.
For the Indian market, the Dreamliner is expected to open up direct links between cities such as Atlanta and Ahmedabad, Amritsar/Chandigarh and Toronto, Bay Area and Bangalore/Hyderabad, Boeing and Indian officials said, suggesting the era of passengers having to transit is over. Indian cities such as Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and Kochi would eventually be linked directly to other key world cities instead of passengers having to transit through Delhi or Mumbai.
