Court reserves order on Goyal

The Bombay High Court on Friday reserved its order in the PIL alleging a nexus between Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal and gangsters Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel. The court said it will examine the matter before giving its order. JPS Verma, secretary, Home Department said nothing found against Goyal after investigations carried out by the state government bodies.
On Thursday, counsel for the Union government Usha Kejriwal told the court that there was no nexus found between Goyal and the gangsters and no adverse inference was gathered against him by the Research and Analysis Wing, the Intelligence Bureau or the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The state Home Department has now been asked to file an affidavit stating its stand.
