Indore: A three-member team from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation today started inquiry into yesterday's incident involving a Jet Airways aircraft, which overshot the runway and skidded into a puddle at the Devi Ahilya airport here, injuring six passengers.
The runway, which was closed for traffic immediately after the incident, would be opened for flight operations this afternoon, Airport Director RK Singh said. The Jet aircraft would also be towed away from near the runway.
While four flights had been cancelled last night, flight operations could not be carried out till noon today, he said.
The inquiry team from Mumbai reached Bhopal by plane and later arrived here by road, Mr Singh said, adding 49 passengers were aboard the Jet aircraft when it landed here. The injured were given first aid at the airport and a nearby hospital. Among various aspects, the team is also likely to probe into granting of landing permission despite bad weather due to rains.
