Mumbai: Five employee unions of state-run carrier Air India today announced their affiliation to Shiv Sena's Bharatiya Kamgaar Sena to seek redressal of issues pertaining to the merger of the airline with domestic carrier Indian.
The five unions, with a membership of approximately 10,000 people, include the Air India Employees Union and were welcomed into the BKS by Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray at a function today.
The unions claimed that they had not been consulted for the merger of the two airlines.
There were many issues related to salary and human resource management which needed to be resolved and were not being taken up by the management, union officials alleged.
