Jet Airways Says Benefits of Currency Gains to Slow in Future

Jet Airways (India) Ltd., the nation's biggest domestic carrier, said gains from an appreciating rupee will be ``marginal'' in the remaining quarters of the financial year.
``Any further strengthening of the rupee versus the dollar will have relatively marginal impact in the months to come,'' Saroj Datta, Jet Airways's executive director, said in an interview today.
Jet Airways yesterday reported an unexpected profit in the fiscal first quarter as a foreign exchange gain helped to erase losses from lower passenger traffic.
The airline expects a ``weak'' second quarter and passenger traffic load will decline from the first quarter, Datta said.
