Kochi: An Air Sahara (Jet Lite) plane with nearly 100 passengers on board skidded off the runway at the Nedumbaserry International Airport, near here, late last night but there were no one was injured on board, airport officials said today.
Boeing 737, flying on the Delhi-Bangalore-Kochi route, skidded when one of its wheels went off the runway after some slush entered the engine while it was landing at about midnight.
However, the plane was safely taxied to the bay, Nedumbaserry Airport Director A C K Nair told UNI.
The runway had to be closed for a few hours after the incident, leading to an Air Arabia flight to Sharjah being delayed by three hours.
