Security breach on an Air India flight at Pearson causes delays

Toronto: For the second night in a row, a security breach on an Air India flight has caused lengthy delays at Pearson Airport.
Police said an Air India plane has been grounded because an elderly woman carried a pen knife through security to the boarding gate.
Other flights had been affected because Transport Canada had put a hold on all flights leaving Pearson's Terminal 3, but officials say those planes are moving again.
Meanwhile airport officials are re-screening passengers and bags from the Air India flight before getting underway. Greater Toronto Airports Authority spokesman Scott Armstrong said airport officials won't be taking any chances.
Armstrong said airport staff will be meeting with security officials in charge of pre-flight screening on Monday. He said it was too early to tell whether the two security breaches are signs of a problem with the screening process that's currently in place.
Armstrong said he doesn't know how long the Air India flight will be delayed.
On Saturday night, 1600 passengers on eight international flights were delayed when a couple made it through security carrying six box cutters and a potato peeler in their carry-on luggage.
