Air India starts Kanpur-Delhi flight

Kanpur: This industrial city was included in the country's air map again with the launch of Air India's Kanpur-Delhi flight service here today.
Air travellers heaved a sigh of relief with the start of this service, as Indian Airlines (now merged with Air India), Archana Airways and Air Deccan had terminated their services on the route about two years back.
Present during the inauguration ceremony at Chakeri airport, Union Minister of State for Home Sri Prakash Jaiswal said ''The start of the Kanpur-Delhi flight is not only beneficial to the civil aviation sector, but also important for the development of our country.'' Besides, employment opportunities would be provided to the people of the city in the sector.
