Air India's rewards, recognition for Team India

Congratulating the Indian cricket team on winning the Twenty20 World Cup, the Minister for Civil Aviation Shri Praful Patel today announced a number of measures to honour the members of the winning team. Addressing a press conference here, the Minister said that he was proud to welcome the team, six of who belong to the Air India family. Air India will be giving out-of-turn promotions to these six players immediately. Additional travel benefits will be given to them and their family members, other than what is permissible to them as being part of Air India. Captain M.S. Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, R.P. Singh and Robin Uthappa are part of the Air India family.
The Minister also announced that Air India would provide a free travel package for five years, for all 15 members of the team and their families, including the manager and the coach of the team, in the Air India network. He added that Air India would do its best to encourage young players and talents across the country. It would also promote the Indian women's cricket team. Shri Patel along with the CMD Air India will be receiving the Indian team when it lands in India tomorrow morning.
