Bomb hoax at Thiruvananthapuram airport

Thiruvananthapuram: A bomb threat at the Airport on Thursday morning turned out to be a hoax by evening.
A phone call was received at the Airport around 9.30 am. informing that a person, named Salim, who is arriving from the Gulf is having a bomb with him. The caller also gave a Chirayankeezhu address.
An Air-India staff who received the call passed on the information to the officials concerned.
The police, on receiving the information, traced the Chirayankeezhu address.
A 20-year-old youth, who is bed-ridden in the house following a motor accident around 15 years ago, has admitted that he had made the call. The youth, who showed signs of mental disturbance, said that he had made the call to correct his date of birth, said Sanghumugham Assistant Commissioner Reghunath.
