GoAir to connect Kolkata by mid-next year

Kolkata: Low cost carrier GoAir will start Kolkata operations from the middle of next year.
"We are consolidating our operations at the moment," GoAir Managing director Jeh Wadia told reporters here on Wednesday.
The airliner plans to go up to 90 flights per day to various destinations across the country, from the present 60 flights a day with a fleet of A320s.
The company has ordered 20 more A320s at a cost of USD 1.2 billion, the first of which would be delivered this month, he said.
Wadia said that the growth in aviation industry was being hampered in the country due to inadequate infrastructure, poor policies and taxation structure.
The airline company is also planning to enter the capital market in 2009.
