Kolkata: Over the next couple of months, low-cost carrier IndiGo will base two aircraft in Kolkata to connect more stations out of the city and increase frequency in metro sectors.
Apart from flights to India’s dream holiday destination, Goa, the carrier will also connect Kolkata to Imphal and Bhubaneswar by November.
The airline is planning to start connections to Patna, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Pune and Bagdogra as well. IndiGo currently connects the city to Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Guwahati, Agartala and Nagpur.
Induction of the two new aircraft will allow the carrier to operate multiple flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. By October, the airline will offer 1,980 seats out of Kolkata against 1,620 seats now.
