Air India gets its first Boeing 777-300ER aircraft

Mumbai : National air-carrier, Air India, on Friday inducted the first Boeing 777-300ER (extended range) aircraft christened 'Bihar' into its fleet.
The aircraft has a total of 342 seats in three-class configuration--4 first-class, 35 executive class and 303 economy class seats.
With the induction of the second B777-300ER later this month, these aircraft would be deployed on the Delhi-London-New York and Amritsar-Delhi-London-New York routes, a release issued here today said.
Air India has ordered 15 Boeing 777-300ERs and they are a part of the 68 aircraft ordered by the national carrier in December 2005.
The order, considered to be the largest made so far in the civil aviation history of the country, was for eight B777-200LRs, 15 B777-300ERs, 27 B787-8 Dreamliners and 18 B737-800s, the release said.
