New Delhi: CBI has filed a complaint against an Executive Director and four other officials of National Airport Authority Of India (NAAI) for allegedly abusing their positions and misappropriating Rs 1.72 crore of an employees' trust two years ago.
The complaint filed before Additional Sessions Judge I K Kochhar also named an investment firm chief and a private person as the accused in the case for their connivance with the airport officials to dupe the employees of the department.
According to the complaint, the officials, then the top members of the National Airport Authority Employees Contributory Fund (NAAECF) trust, had purchased bonds worth Rs 22.4 crore in May, 2005, from M/s Securities Investment Ltd (SIL) with intent to misappropriate the money.
The executive members of the trust, headed by M Dey, who is currently serving as Executive Director (P&A) in NAAI, were entrusted with the responsibility to invest the fund in profitable bonds and securities, the complaint said.
