Lagos: Dubai-based international airline, Emirates, is strengthening good community relationship with its support for the Indian community in Nigeria.
The airline yet again supported the Indian Wom-en's Association (IWA) during its fund raising event in Lagos. The event is aimed at mobilising funds for the execution of social projects initiated by IWA as part of efforts to promote community development and friendship.
The event held at Muson Centre, Lagos and was attended by leading members of the Indian community in Nigeria, including the Indian High Commissioner, Mr. Hari Vishawanathan.
Emirates aided the fund raise by donating business class tickets that covered six of the 10-member musical group from Bombay that performed at the fund raise.
This is in addition to one business class return ticket on the Lagos-India sector, given to Mrs. Shobha Tolani, winner of a raffle draw, organised as part of the fund raise event.
Emirates Manager, Nigeria, Mr. Hafeez Azeem presented the ticket at the event. He said the donation was in line with the airlines' recognition of the importance of charitable activities in advancing the society.
