New Delhi: Aviation is booming around the globe and this brings with it the 'additional challenges of crowded skies and huge pressures on infrastructure', the Indian Air Force chief, Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major, said here Tuesday.
'That aviation has inherent dangers is stating the obvious,' he said while inaugurating the International Flight Safety Conference-2007 (IFSCON-07) here.
Delegates from over 30 countries are attending the conference that has as its motto 'Aviation Safety: A Universal Language'.
'The conference provides an important forum where participants of various global aviation organizations, air forces and aviation related organizations - like the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) - come together to share their experiences to enhance flight safety globally,' an IAF release said.
The delegates at IFSCON will deliberate on topics such as adoption of tri-services Pan-Defence Aviation Regulatory & Safety Group, operational risk management, accident investigation techniques, and pitfalls in human factors.
