Bangalore: The Tourism in the state is all set for wide ranging development in tourism sector right from aviation, connectivity and all round improvement in facilities offered to the tourists. All these will happen due to the state getting two aviation hubs at Mangalore and Bangalore and some relaxation on the Coastal Regulation Zone on the coastal areas.
According to Karnataka Commissioner of Tourism, Kannada and Culture I.M. Vittal Murthy, the relaxation in the CRZ to the extent possible will help the Karnataka coast to improve tourist facilities on lines with that of Goa and Kerala.
Mr. Murthy has assured the entrepreneurs and investors in the hospitality industry that the tourism driven policy will become the order of the day in less than couple of years. He was interacting with the captains of industry and trade under the aegis of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI).
He said when the Devanahalli Airport opens in the Bangalore City it will become a hub of aviation in South India likewise Mangalore airport which has been developed into an international airport with night navigation facilities will add the connectivity to different regions of the country as well as the West Asian countries. He said that Mangalore will be a link to the entire western states including Goa and Maharashtra while Bangalore will be connected to rest of the country.
