New Delhi: Mihin Lanka, Sri Lanka’s the first budget airlines, opened its office in New Delhi. Sri Lanka’s new national carrier, next to Sri Lanka Airlines is planning to fly to all the capitals of the SARC countries in the near future. At present it flies to a few destinations in India as well as to Maldives Islands
Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rohitha Bogollagama inaugurated the New Delhi Office of Mihin Lanka on 14th October, 2007.
Minister Bogollagama in his comments during the inauguration stated that Mihin Lanka has now carried approximately 95,000 passengers since its inception. It is the first in the history of Sri Lanka to have been established as a second national carrier. Further, Mihin Lanka has the distinction of commencing operations during the first year of office of President Mahinda Rajapakse.
