Goans seek direct flights from Doha

Doha: The Goan Community in Doha made a strong plea for direct flights from Doha to Goa at a meeting organised by the Goan Welfare Association on the occasion of the visit of NRI delegation from Indian state of Goa.
The committee headed by Commissioner for NRI Affairs, Government of Goa, Eduardo Faleiro, Vice Admiral (Retd.) John C D'Silva, Chairman, Overseas Employment Agency of Goa, Ulhas D Kamat, Director of NRI Affairs and Ms. Sabina Martins, woman activist of 'Bailancho Saad'(women Organisation) urged India's Aviation Ministry to take steps to start at least weekly direct flights from Doha to Goa.
Simon D'Silva, President of Goan Welfare Association presented a proposal to NRI Commissioner on behalf of the Goans in Qatar for a direct flight.
