Mangalore : The passengers of Mangalore-Dubai flight vent their ire against the Air India Express staff in Bajpe airport on Monday following the non-arrival of the flight.
Though a tense situation prevailed in the airport premises for some time, the authorities concerned including Airport Director M R Vasudeva intervened and brought the situation under control. Mr Vasudeva said that the flight was scheduled to arrive at 11.15 from Calicut and leave for Dubai at 12 noon.
However, the flight was held up in Abu Dhabi following a technical snag and the pilot was helpless, Mr Rao added.
Though a few passengers were informed in advance, about 75 passengers (who could not be informed) arrived at the airport only to learn that the flight will not arrive on Monday.However, the authorities concerned not only made arrangements to the passengers to stay in a hotel but also paid a sum of Rs 1,000 each to 75 passengers as compensation.
