SS Aviation to launch low cost airline by March ' 08

Bangalore: SS Aviation Ltd., a Bangalore-based air charter service company, is planning to launch a low-cost airline - 'SS Airlines' - operating out of the city by March, 2008. The airline is scheduled to connect Bangalore with New Delhi and Chennai. Currently the company is awaiting the Scheduled License from the Union Civil Aviation Ministry, which is expected by February, 2008.
Commenting on the business model, Mahesh Iyer, General Manager, SS Aviation Ltd, said, "We are in the process of leasing and buying aircraft. The fleet size is not yet confirmed, but the work is in progress." Launched in September, 2007, SS Aviation Ltd. currently owns two seven seater aircraft and services the domestic corporate clients and inbound tourists.
