Bhubaneswar: Air India has yet again handed a raw deal to the people of Temple City.
Despite soaring passenger traffic to both Chennai and New Delhi (via Ranchi), it has withdrawn flights to both the metros from yesterday.
As the Chennai flight is operated from Kolkata, its decade-long service to the Eastern metropolis from here has also come to an end.
The move, evidently, has sent a collective sense of disbelief and shock among the travelling fraternity and tour operators.
Several tour operators are planning to make a representation to the State Government on Monday to convey their displeasure to the Centre.
Incidentally, Air India’s decision has robbed the city of an air connection to Chennai.Couple of months back private carriers like Air Deccan too had withdrawn services to Chennai following its merger with Kingfisher.
