New Delhi: The men who command the leanest meanest fighting machines in the world have won a small battle of their own.
The Home Ministry has cleared a request to spare them from being frisked at Indian airports, a request that had become a bit of a tussle between the defence establishment and the Government.
On Thursday, the Civil Aviation Ministry added the names of the three service chiefs to the select list.
In Thursday's order, all Bharat Ratna awardees, Attorney General, Assistant Solicitor General, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, all Election Commissioners and the Comptroller and Auditor General benefited thanks to the service chiefs.
