A thick veil of fog is likely to engulf the city for three days severely disrupting air and road traffic in and around the Capital.
“There might be some rain on Sunday and Monday following which the fog will set in,” said BP Yadav, director, India Meteorological Department. The fog is likely to stay on till Thursday, said the National Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting.
“We might have the first episode of flight disruptions at IGI airport this season with visibility dropping to 100 meters,” said OP Sharma, chief meteorologist at SkyMet, a private weather information company. However, the Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd (DIAL) says this time it is ready to tackle fog even if it sets in on Monday. “Cabins have been put up next to terminal 1B and food and beverage outlets have been opened,” said DIAL’s Arun Arora.
