Fog delays flights, angry passengers keep CISF on toes

New Delhi: Fog delays at the domestic airport probably put the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in more action than any security alert.
According to sources, this time, long delays and lack of information caused more upsets on the airside. Several airlines had to wait for over two hours after boarding for ATC clearance.
Passengers of an Indian flight to Vadodara, IC 806, that was to depart at 10 am, gheraoed the tarmac at 2 pm, after having spent several hours in the aircraft. They refused to leave and CISF was called to handle the situation.
Tired of waiting inside the aircraft, passengers of Indigo flight 6E 301 that was scheduled to depart at 6.15 am, decided to deboard the aircraft followed by an altercation with the airline staff. Due to the long delay, the flight was changed to 6E305 but when even that did not take off, angry passengers gathered on the tarmac.
At 3.30 pm, a Simplyfly Deccan flight to Pune, DN 627, was cancelled. Passengers, who had yet again spent some hours in the flight, first refused to get off the aircraft and later some of them lay down on the tarmac. This caused another Simplyfly Deccan flight to get cancelled and held up traffic for a while.
